With a successful partnership already established, Matrix relished the challenge set by Singapore Airlines (SIA) to find yet another internationally known fine fragrance brand for its Business Class onboard washroom toiletries. Again, three items were sought, a facial mist, hand lotion and eau de toilette at retail sizes, yet at airline budgets. After brief investigation and review, a shortlist of suppliers from Matrix’s brand portfolio was suggested, with Penhaligon’s, holders of two royal warrants, chosen by the airline as their preferred brand partner.
Royal Warrants are a mark of recognition to individuals or companies who have supplied goods or services for at least five years to HM The Queen, HRH The Duke of Edinburgh or HRH The Prince of Wales. Warrants have always been regarded as demonstrating excellence and quality, and are highly prized. Today there are over 850 royal warrant holders entitled to use the title and royal arms.
A selection of Penhaligon’s fragrances were showcased to SIA with the Quercus range being their preferred and selected option. The Matrix team were in close contact with Penhaligon’s NPD team, to ensure the challenging delivery schedule was met. Matrix had to mould a new face mist/hand lotion and edt bottles to ensure the co-branded products exactly matched the retail items but could also be delivered through Matrix’s specialist supply chain. The products went through a rigorous QA process to ensure they met the onboarding requirements of SIA and all in time for the global launch date.
The product launch was a success and delivered on time, with very pleasing and positive feedback received to date.
