The retailer wanted to develop and produce a young, fun range of Christmas slippers while maintaining its reputation for high-quality footwear. This is a notoriously challenging area, as slippers are price competitive and demand intensive design input to ensure uniqueness.
Through trend analysis and customer profiling, we worked with our creative team and existing slipper suppliers to translate fashion trends into the new slipper range. The design team produced a number of CAD visuals, demonstrating innovative and competitive slipper designs, along with initial samples from the factory to present to New Look.
New Look’s novelty slipper business has flourished year on year to become a major category. Each year Matrix proposes and develops a seasonal view to maintain New Look’s USP and drive sales during the subsequent year. The 2016 slipper range consisted of all-new, fun novelty styles, with an order total of nearly 100,000 units.
