Matrix was invited by Cathay Pacific to participate in the tender for a suite of new amenity kits, washroom toiletries and bedding in First and Business Class. From a shortlist of five natural & luxury skincare brands from Matrix’s portfolio, Bamford was chosen.
Matrix worked collaboratively with Bamford and Cathay Pacific to design a new range of bedding and amenities to increase customer satisfaction, using insights to prioritise investment in the products that customers value most.
Improving sustainability and reducing waste was a key consideration during the design process, as well as ensuring every product offered a point of difference to help Cathay deliver the best night’s sleep in the sky.
The greatest challenges throughout the project were to complete the design and product testing process within budget and within the deadline of four months.
Taking inspiration from Cathay Pacific’s ethos and culture, coupled with that of Bamford, a range of exclusive products were designed and created.
The First and Business Class bedding range has been beautifully crafted with quality and sustainability in mind, using natural, high-quality materials, all made with 100% cotton. Bamford sources the purest natural active ingredients to produce its award-winning skincare products and has curated a selection for Cathay passengers that soothes, protects and deeply hydrates skin.
First Class Passengers can expect high-quality bedding all made with 600-thread-count 100% cotton including a luxury, full-size, retail-quality pillow with the option to choose ‘soft’, ‘medium’ or ‘firm’ from the new pillow menu.
In addition to this, First Class passengers will be given a retail-quality two-piece duvet with a luxurious quilted inner and cotton outer, a super-soft oversized day blanket, a sumptuously soft cushion and a 100% cotton, 600-thread-count padded mattress topper.
The First Class amenity kits are presented in an elegant, vegan-leather travel bag with different designs for male and female kits. From the Bamford Botanic Skincare Range, the women’s kit features a four-step Skin for Sleep ritual which includes moisturising lotion, eye cream, lip balm and balancing tonic. From the Bamford Grooming Department, the men’s kit features a three-step Skin for Sleep ritual which includes moisturiser, lip balm and hydrating face mist.
Business Class passengers can expect equally high-quality bedding all made with 400-thread-count 100% cotton including a luxury, full-size retail-quality pillow, a luxurious two-piece duvet, super-soft oversized day blanket and padded mattress topper. The elegant, vegan-leather travel bag includes Bamford Botanic hand and body lotion, hydrating face most and lip cream.
