Social and ethical responsibility underpins everything we do. So from product development to delivery, your brand values, and ours, are always met.

We believe that making good quality products need not come at the expense of others. Matrix recognises the importance of the communities from which we source and we have a strong commitment to improving the lives of workers within our supply chain.

We really care about where our products come from and under what conditions they are produced.

Firstly, we are proud to be a leader member of the Ethical Trading Initiative (ETI), which brings together brands, retailers, suppliers, unions and voluntary organisations to improve conditions for workers worldwide. The ETI base code forms the basis of our engagement with suppliers and is used as the internationally recognised standard against which we monitor our supplier’s performance.

Secondly, we use RESPECT and RESPONSIBILITY as the two principles that underpin our work;

  • We give RESPECT to all people within our supply chains and build better conditions for our workers.
  • We take RESPONSIBILITY for all our everyday business decisions and their impact within the supply chain.

The UK’s Modern Slavery Act requires organisations to make a public statement on the steps they are taking to identify and prevent modern slavery occurring in their operations and supply chains. Matrix are an advocate and supporter of this policy, we are proud to publish our first statement as an example to others of the positive steps we have taken to identify, monitor and reduce the risks in our supply chain.

People, Planet and Prosperity are at the heart of our business principals and it is our moral responsibility to adopt the highest standards of social and ethical conduct throughout our internal operations and supply chain. We drive transparency through our business model of honesty and integrity, and promote a ‘beyond audit approach’ with our factories through our internal CSR training workshops and capacity building projects.

We train, support and guide our suppliers to comply with the minimum requirements of international quality management and social & ethical standards. As a Leader member of the Ethical Trading Initiative (ETI), we work collaboratively with brands and retailers to drive realistic and sustainable change in working conditions through improved productivity and HR studies.

We are also committed to minimising the economic and environmental impact of our internal and external operations. Matrix are proud to be a signatory of the New Plastics Economy “Global Commitment”, along with 250 global brands, with the aim of achieving the following goals by 2025:

  • Eliminate problematic or unnecessary plastic packaging
  • Move from single-use towards reuse models where relevant
  • 100% of plastic packaging to be reusable, recyclable, or compostable
  • Set ambitious recycled content targets across all plastic packaging used
